I was listening to something this morning that really struck a harmony with this. On a book programme, I heard that Cormack McCarthy wrote: "I think the notion that the species can be improved in some way, that everyone can live in harmony is a really dangerous idea. Those who are afflicted with this notion are the first ones to give up their souls, their freedom. Your desire that it be that way will enslave you and make your life vacuous." I like it because I'd love to unfollow some people but I'm racked with fear just contemplating it. It doesn't mean I don't like them - I just don't like their Tweets. I unfollowed a particularly well known blogger a while ago and boy did it feel good.
