I’ve just noticed that this photo, taken last Saturday at Penzance Harbour in Cornwall, and looking out towards St Michael’s Mount across the bay:
…is photo number 5,555 in my Flickr stream.
That’s the equivalent of a photo a day for over 15 years, though I’ve actually managed to post them in a couple of months shy of four years. Not all of my photos are public
Over the last four years, my passion for photography has grown and grown, mostly through use of Flickr, and all the exposure, feedback, support, inspiration, experimentation and practical technique refinement that has entailed. I hope that my skills have increased concurrently - my willingness to experiment with form and tools and techniques and devices certainly has, as well as my growing desire need to capture, document, see the world via the medium of still images through a lens.
Here are some favourite shots which I’ve taken
I look at the world differently these days, and it’s a passion which provides a challenge (both physical and practical as well as mental) as well as a huge amount of enjoyment. I hope it never fades.
Thank you, Flickr - couldn’t have done it without you!

Lots of great photos but my favourite is the “hats” one from your most recent set.
The word “HATS” on the side of a buoy, what’s not to like?
What a coincidence! I’ve just put together a blog of the most “photographic” of my images, and I visited your site looking for hints at how to let people know it was out there - and there was your own magnificent “best of” collection. Congrats on a really powerful set.
I really get what you say about the growing need to keep your eyes peeled to capture the quirky, the beautiful and the unique. It’s a drug.
I’d love you to take a look at my stuff - you can either browse the blog or click on any image which will take you to my Flickr stream, where you can see a slideshow of my “blogged” set.
Digital cameras are ace, aren’t they? As is flickr. Without both I’m sure I’d never have developed any real interest in a-snappin’.
Consistently top-drawer pix, Meg. I look forward to your 11,110th!
It makes me very proud to think Flickr has helped you enjoy photography more, Meg. Heaven knows, I managed to purchase about 50 cameras and have a very expensive film habit, thanks to the damn thing ;)
Very inspiring. I love the way your mind and your eye works
