Hearts, flowers, cupid etc etc yadda yadda yadda

Given that we’re now definitely well into February, I thought it was about time we brought back the biliousness of the season, in the form of the infamous Be My Anti Valentine site, now back for 2007. Huzzah.

Still full of snarky, sarky cards to send to your loved ones and people you know, it’s much the same as the site you may remember from years gone by, only this year (hopefully) with added stability.

Massive kudos and a cast-iron promise of precisely NO pukesome pastel toys holding heart-shaped signs saying “wuv oo!” in Comic Sans to the lovely geek I married, for doing devious things with servers, perl and CGI, which I think is above and beyond the limits of the marriage vows. Rock on.

Also this year, no more ads. They were ugly and irrelevant anyway - Google seemed curiously unable to tell the difference between a Valentines site and an ANTI-Valentine’s site, and believe me, there’s quite a difference. If we need to shore the server up, or placate the lovely people at Pair, there’s still an option to donate, should people feel so inclined.

Media-wise, I’ve done a couple of interviews already (one radio, two newspaper) and I’ve prepared a fairly detailed FAQ for anyone needing to understand what this is all about.

So, with the sound of Paul shouting “ooh, there’s another one” from his study as he watches the database count tick over, I’m going to sit back and see what happens. Let the fun begin.
