There’s been something stirring on this site for a while now, only I couldn’t quite put my finger on exactly what it was.

Redesigning crossed my mind a few times, but after a few abortive attempts in June, I realised that wasn’t necessarily it.

So I experimented. More words. Less words. Dates. No dates. One thing on the page. Many things on a page. Audience participation, or just me me me.

The whole thing seemed out of balance, stagnant. I’ve been building this site up for over two years, and if felt like an old Christmas tree, drooping under the weight of a thousand old family decorations and dead needles. Legacy can be a weighty thing.

So I looked again. Gradually, I’ve been making changes - things you may or may not have noticed, little fixes and tweaks on the surface and beneath the bonnet, and this is the latest phase, though this site, like the internet, is as much a work in progress as I am. Change comes slowly, but it always comes.

This is life, unfolding.
