Snapshot

Normal programming has resumed. Strangers are traipsing round my house, peering into my knicker drawer. I just made 800 pancakes for brunch.

Luke is convinced he can hear a duck in the house. Absolutely convinced of it.

Now, I’ve hallucinated seeing a duck before - specifically, a dancing duck in a bobble hat, masquerading as a tree in the foothills of the Amazon* - but never hearing one. He just made me roar with laughter, searching around the flat for the elusive mallard. Hehehe.

*(Long story, but essentially, San Pedro Cactus is the most evil tasting thing I’ve ever had in my entire life. Completely disgusting - much worse than you can possibly imagine. In fact, I feel nauseous just thinking about it - and it’s been years since I tasted any. It’s a hallucinogen used in Quechua prophesy and healing rituals. My anthropological fieldwork in Bolivia involved me taking part in these rituals. Very long and complicated stories surround these experiences. Seeing a dancing duck in a bobble hat was not an experience I was expecting, however. Scary.)
